HOW
TO PROGRAM THE PIC ?
We
use the PCW Compiler to write & compile programs and CCS Load and the
ICD-U40 programmer to write programs to the PIC. Always load a .hex file onto
the PIC – the compiled machine language program. The hex file should be located
in the same folder as our project file. We need to connect the ICD’s Ethernet
cable pins to the appropriate pins on the PIC in order to load a program. We also need to have the PIC running (i.e.
under +5V power) when programming.

SIMULATION
For
the simulation process we need to use ISIS that combined circuit simulation,
animated components and microprocessor models to faciliate co-simulation of
complete microcontroller based designs, By this software, it is possible to
develop and test our designs before a physical prototype is constructed. We
also searching some coding on the website such as CCS Forum to test our circuit
function or not. At the CCS Forum, we got a lot of ways on how to built simple
coding and also complex coding especially for RFID Door Lock. Some of these RFID
coding using the keypad driver <kbd.c> to scanning the keypad and lcd
driver <lcd.c>,<flex_lcd.c> to display the LCD. Below were all the coding that have been simulate by us:

ISIS CIRCUIT
DESIGN
Today
we need to design ISIS circuit for our project which was RFID Access Control.
In designing this circuit we used pic16f877a, resistor 10k, 20 Mhz crystal
oscillator, lcd display and keypad phone which was 4x3 (3 columns, 4 rows). LCD
we connected them to the Port B and for the keypad we connected them to the
Port D. In pic16f877a, the pins RB0-RB7, RC0-RC7, and RD0-RD7 are digital I/O
pins. The pins CCP1 and CCP2, which
share locations with RC1 and RC2, can be used for a PWM. The pins AN0-AN7 are for analog I/O. TX and
RX are for debugging I/O. The remaining
pins deal with power/ground, the clock signal, and programmer I/O.

INSTALLING
PIC C COMPILER & PROTEUS SOFTWARE
Today
we need to install two most of important software in order to design the
circuit using PIC. So, we got the installer of these software from our partners
which were BENE students course because they already learned in their syllabus
and also expert with these software. We started to learned how to install these
software from them. After the installation complete, now we can start exploring
these software.

Today our supervisor who was Mr
Mazran Bin Esro choose three persons to do this project. So, Saiful Amirin,
Faris and Hanif have been chosen to complete this project so before we get
started first we need to see Engineer Siva Kumar Subramaniam to take all the
equipments which were RFID Access Control, RFID Cards and EM Block from him. We
used model G2000-C RFID Access Control including the user’s manual to guide us
through setting process for this project. Based on the user’s manual given we
must find it on how to setup RFID Access Control, explore and learned the
process by ourselves. There were three ways to configure how the user making contact
with the RFID Access Control System which were keyfob entry, password entry,
and keyfob plus password entry but for our basic learning process Engineer Siva
Kumar Subramaniam just told us to configure the setup for keyfob entry and
password entry only.

TESTING PIC MICROCONTROLLER

After finished soldering all the components to the PIC board,
now we were ready to testing our project whether the circuit might be function
or otherwise. There were a few ways to do the inspection work for example by using
multimeter, vibrate sensor, and LCD display.

This company more uses microcontroller and PLC for the
project. So, we have to know about microcontroller and PLC. Engineer Siva also gives
us a task to remember how to read value of components and we also must sort the
components next week. We also must learn about how to read value from SMD
component because the component that we always use and learn is type of through
hole. Engineer Siva told us about project that maybe we will involved on our practical.
After briefing by Engineer Siva, we need to accomplished task by note that Mr Mazran
gave to us to complete soldering process on the PIC by using the new components
that he already buy.

Mr Mazran
give us a sample of microcontroller PIC and we need to design and soldering
this new PIC by follow the sample that have already given to us. In this task,
we learned on how to solder all these electronic components such as
resistor, capacitor, transistor and the other. Actually there are a standard
method that being used in order to solder all these component correctly. For
this task, we need to refer IPC-A-610D module for the quality acceptability requirements for
electronic assemblies in soldering process.

Where
appropriate, the type of soldering process used has been addressed specifically
in the criteria description. In any case, the connection criteria apply
regardless of which methods of soldering have been utilized, for example:
• Soldering irons.
• Resistance soldering apparatus.
• Induction wave, or drag
soldering.
• Reflow
soldering.
• Intrusive soldering.

I am Faris who currently continued my studies at Universiti Teknikal
Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) taking Bachelor of Electronic Engineering in Telecommunication. Recently a third year student who’s taking degree at UTeM. Today our supervisor which is Mr Mazran Bin Esro told us
to create a blog as a journal to report all our daily life activities during
these internship programme. Means that, all of us must create one blog and post
all the activities, knowledge, input and output that we gain along this
internship programme everyday.
